Applications:
Antioxidant 1790 is a high performance hindered phenolic antioxidant as primary antioxidant for organic polymers, especially suited for polyolefin ,polyurethane, polypropylene, polyester and polyamide fiber, also for other engineering plastics with high-temperature resistance, where it provides at low dosage. The performance benefit of Antioxidant 1790 includes the minimal color contribution, good solubility/migration balance and excellent compatibility with light stabilizer and secondary antioxidants,
Antioxidant 1790 has a high molecular weight, which results in low volatility and good extraction resistance. In molding applications it is particularly recommended for filled systems where extraction resistance is an issue. Its excellent gas-fade resistance is especially beneficial for polyurethane fibers. It can be used as well in polyolefin fibers.
Guidelines for use
The concentrations of Antioxidant 1790 to be used strongly depend on end-usen requirements.
The recommended concentration is 0.05 ~ 0.25%.
Handling & Safety
The powder from Antioxidant 1790 may form explosive dust-air mixtures. The use of proper protective equipment is recommended. Excess exposure to the product should be avoided. Wash thoroughly after handling. For additional handling and toxicological information before handling this material, please consult Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
FDA STATUS
Antioxidant 1790 is sanctioned as an antioxidant at levels not to exceed 0.1% in olefin polymers used in the manufacture of articles that contact food, subject to the provisions of Section 178.2010 (b) of the Food Additives Regulations. Also, Antioxidant 1790 is sanctioned for use in polystyrene and rubber-modified polystyrene under Section 177.1640,
